Coffee Chat with Cori: the season of love is in full swing

Hi, I’m Cori – Your Personal Destination Wedding, Honeymoon and Luxury Travel Concierge!

“The day we met; frozen I held my breath. Right from the start, I knew that I'd found a home for my heart.

Beats fast colors and promises, how to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall, but watching you stand alone?

All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow… One step closer…” A Thousand Years by Christina Perri

Did you also fall in love with this song as you sat in the theater giddy and yet anxious at the same time on what was happening? Then suddenly the beauty of Bella Swan walking toward Edward Cullen was forever etched in your brain. She sees him and instantly her nervousness melts away. The gorgeous backdrop of the Pacific Northwest elaborately decorated in florals against the moss-covered forest floor immediately became every girl’s wedding dream in 2011. Almost instantly, destination weddings in Washington were being searched all over Google and Pinterest.

Now this wasn’t my first time I was wide-eyed for an immortal. My first taste of a young girl falling for someone who never ages was when I was lost in one of my favorite pastimes in my pre-teen years. I must have checked this book out 10 times over the course of several years, and each time I would transform into Winnie Foster the moment I cracked open the binding of that book. Winifred Foster was everything I was at the time, a young girl who was sheltered from everything around her, and was looking for just a little bit of normalcy. She thought she found that in the Tuck Family, and one of the most memorable love stories to this day was born. (If you appreciate great reads, my recommendation for the perfect quick Valentine’s story is Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. )

There was a clearing directly in front of her, at the center of which an enormous tree thrust up, its thick roots rumpling the ground ten feet around in every direction. Sitting relaxed with his back against the trunk was a boy, almost a man. And he seemed so glorious to Winnie that she lost her heart at once.
— Babbit, N. (1975) Tuck Everlasting

Flashforward to today, February 14, 2023 and I still enjoy the romance of new love. The excitement and hope that surrounds it is almost contagious, I witnessed it just yesterday as I stood in line at my local district clerk’s office, soon-to-be newlyweds waiting on their turn to purchase their marriage licenses. Whether they chose a small intimate ceremony, or a large affair, one can only guess that they too are hopeless romantics like I am when deciding to marry around the most celebrated holiday for lovers. Are you one of these couples?

If you are, my most celebrated congratulations to you both, and please share your pictures in the comments below so my readers can congratulate you as well! If you choose to be like Bella, or me, and consider a destination wedding I am here to help you plan and build your dream nuptials. If you go the traditional route with your big day, I am also available to offer my expertise in order to build your ultimate honeymoon itinerary. All we need is a quick conversation to get started, and you are able to schedule time with me here. Nevertheless, I hope you are spending today with the person(s) you love, fur-babies self-love and all. <3

Until we chat again – sending best wishes and love to you,

Cori
